Our Curriculum and Delivery

We utilise the Get Set PE scheme of work, ensuring a broad and balanced range of activities that develop fundamental movement skills, agility, and teamwork.

  • Weekly Lessons: Children participate in regular PE lessons, making full use of our facilities with sessions held both indoors and outdoors throughout the year.

  • PE Days: To maximise activity time, children should come to school dressed in their PE kits on their designated PE days.

    • Please consult individual class pages for specific timetables.

    • Detailed requirements for the school PE kit can be found on our Uniform Page.

At our school, we believe that physical activity is the cornerstone of a healthy, confident, and motivated child. We are deeply invested in providing a high-quality physical education curriculum that inspires every child to find a sport or activity they truly love.

Competition and Enrichment

We are proud members of the Hertford and Ware Sports Association, which allows us to offer a robust calendar of sporting fixtures and festivals. Our ambition is for every child in KS1 and KS2 to represent the school at an off-site enrichment event at least once per academic year.

We categorise our sporting opportunities into three distinct pathways to ensure inclusivity and challenge for all:

  1. Inspire and Engage: Focused on participation, fun, and trying new things.

  2. Aspire and Develop: Targeted at building specific skills and confidence.

  3. Competition: Traditional competitive fixtures for those ready to test their skills against other schools.
